General
Polybond
Polyfloor
is
ideal
for
wooden
and
concrete
floors
both
internally
and
externally.
It
is
based
on
modified
polyurethane
resins
which
are
tough
and
flexible.
Thus
it
provides
a
hard
wearing
surface
which
is
resistant
to
chemicals
and
oils
and
yet
smooth
enough
to
be
hygienic
and
easy
to
clean,
preventing
problems
of
dusting
and
staining.
Polybond
Polyfloor
is
available
in
a
wide
range
of
colours
that
dry
to
a
mid
gloss
finish.
For
extra
shine,
a
clear surface glaze is also available.
Polybond
Polyfloor
is
quick
drying
and
therefore
recommended
as
a
protective
coating
to
garage
and
factory
floors
where
minimum
time
is
available
for
shutdown.
The
product
can
be
applied
quickly
and
easily
over
a
weekend by unskilled labour, ready for use on Monday morning.

Surface Preparation
Thorough
preparation
of
the
surface
to
be
coated
will
allow
the
paint
to
perform
to
its
best
capability.
Surfaces
must
be
dry
and
clean,
leaving
no
dust,
dirt,
oil
or
grease.
Polybond
Concrete
Cleaner
should
be
used
to
clean
concrete
floors.
Existing
paintwork
should
be
scraped
back
to
a
firm
edge
with
any
bare
areas
being
patch
primed
prior to the main coat. To ensure compatability, a patch test should be carried out over existing paint.
Application
Porous
floors
such
as
concrete
should
have
a
first
coat
of
Polybond
Polyfloor
to
which
10%
Speed
Thinners
has
been added. Metal floors will require a primer coat of either
Glopane Epoxy
or
Zinc Phosphate Primer
.
The product will require thorough stirring and can be applied by brush, roller, conventional or airless spray methods.
To
ensure
maximum
strength,
the
manufacturer
recommends
application
of
two
full
bodied
coats.
This
is
achieved
by
sprinkling
a
non-slip
aggregate
into
the
first
coat
whilst
it
is
still
wet.
Any
loose
excess
should
be
brushed
away
prior to the second coat.
Chemical Resistance
Once
cured,
Polybond
Polyfloor
will
withstand
the
following:
freshwater,
sea
water,
milk,
acids,
alkalis,
diesel
oil,
mineral oil, grease, fat and kerosene. It will also be capable of resisting splashes of petrol and hydraulic fluids.
Colours
Tile Red, Sandstone, Dark Green, Grey and Clear from stock. Other colours available on request.
Properties
Health & Safety
Please
note
that
Polybond
Polyfloor
has
a
low
flash
point
and
should
only
be
used
away
from
possible
sources
of
ignition.
Attention
must
be
given
to
industrial
hygiene,
extraction
of
vapours
and
fire
precautions.
Personnel
should
be informed of all handling requirements and given a current copy of the
Polybond Polyfloor Safety Data Sheet
.
Polybond
Polyfloor
may
be
harmful
in
contact
with
skin
or
inhaled.
This
product
contains
a
very
small
proportion
of
a
substance
that
is
suspected
of
causing
cancer.
This
product
may
be
fatal
if
swallowed
or
enters
airways.
